Stainboy, 曾经的名字是Stain Boy, 起源于Tim Burton 1997年出版的绘本故事The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories(牡蛎少年的忧郁之死和其它故事)。Stain Boy是一个满身污点没有人要的孩子，但是又那么有责任感惹人恋爱。2000年10月Flinch Studio和Shockwave一同推出了讲述Stainboy故事的动画短片，Tim Burton参与了编剧和导演。这个个黑暗的，奇异的大导演Tim Burton，满脑子鬼点子的Tim Burton，不要忘了他的本行可是动画艺术啊。毕业于加州艺术学院的他，进入Disney打杂，在拍了一部黑暗的动画Vincent之后被崇尚美好的Disney踢了出来……之后开始了他的电影生涯，但是他始终没有放弃他的画笔和热爱的动画艺术。
Stainboy这个看似卡通英雄的人物，和一般的卡通英雄不同。他走到哪，哪里留下斑斑点点。他悲伤，他善良，他忧心忡忡。完成任务还要面对上司的责骂，真是命苦的孩子。片中出现的一些角色，也都出自于Tim的那本The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories，Tim用他的诗和诡异又充满想象力的画笔，描述了许多怪模怪样的可爱角色的忧伤故事。如Staring Girl，The Toxic Boy……当然还有Stain Boy。这23个黑色幽默的小故事处处透出Tim的鬼才本质。这本会是你从未看过的最有趣的绘本故事书，真的！

Stainboy原本计划做26集，但是因为Tim Burton在6集完成之后转而导演 Planet of the Apes. 很可惜的搁置的。不过，Stainboy的cast丝毫不比Tim的任何一部电影差，首先配乐就请来老搭档Danny Elfman，Sgt.Glen Dale的配音是Glenn Shadix（Beetlejuice）,The Nightmare Before Christmas里的市长,Planet of the Apes里的参议员；Lisa Marie (Match Girl, Stainboy's mother, and Cracker Girl) 当时是Tim的女友，之后又参与了 Mars Attacks!,Ed Wood,和Pota)

Of all the super heroes,
the strangest one by far,
doesn't have a special power,
or drive a fancy car.
next to Superman and batman, I guess he must seem tame.
But to me he is quite special,
and Stain Boy is his name.
He can't fly around tall buildings,

the only talent he seems to have
is to leave a nasty stain.
Sometimes I know it bothers him,
that he can't run orm or fly,
and because of this one ability,
