The House of Night is a series of young adult Fantasy/Horror novels co-authored by P.C. Cast and her daughter Kristin Cast. The series revolves around the development and adventures of Zoey Redbird, a 16-year-old gifted fledgling vampyre who attends the House of Night school where she will eventually change into a Vampyre or die in the process. Zoey isn't the same as most normal fledlings and her difference makes her stand out when she comes to the House of Night. However, her difference has its advantages and soon earns her acceptance in her new life. But all is not what it seems, and soon Zoey realizes that along with her individuality comes responsibility and faces many challenges along the journey to (hopefully) becoming a vampyre. The series has been on the New York Times Bestseller List for childern's books 37 weeks as of May 19, 2009.
