Blackmore's Night
吉他手Ritchie Blackmore和他的妻子Candice Night组成的夫妻乐队 Blackmore’sNight，唤醒了多少人的耳朵。神仙眷侣虽然年岁相差达26岁，但这并不影响他们对音乐的理解一致。Ritchie Blackmore从hard rock中抽身而和妻子共同步入美妙的world music,Renaissance, new age, folk领域，源自于Ritchie Blackmore的文艺复兴（Renaissance）情结。Ritchie并没有完全放弃自己心爱的Fender Stratocaster，但这并不影响他在 Blackmore’s Night里用原声木吉他演奏出醉人的旋律，高超的技艺无处不在。Night清爽ethereal式的嗓音辅于各种中世纪乐器----曼陀铃，键盘，锡哨，提琴，铃鼓，军鼓，手摇风琴等让人体验到从来没有过的美妙感受。Ritchie曾这样形容Blackmore’s Night----"Mike Oldfield meets Enya." Ritchie和Night初识是在1989年，当时Ritchie和他的Deep Purple跟Night所在纽约长岛的电台工作成员橄榄球队打比赛。Night过去是个职业模特，她曾在纽约科技学院攻读通信专业同时参加学校的电台节目。出于对文艺复兴时期文化的深爱，Blackmore和Night在分享经历的同时很自然并很快地成为了一对。
Blackmore’s Night的最终组成，跟Blackmore以前的两个乐队是密不可分的。1993年Deep Purple的专辑《The Battle Rages On》成绩相当糟糕，Blackmore伤心之余退出了DeepPurple。随后在1995年的《Stranger in Us All》中，Blackmore运用了高科技电子乐使得Rainbow再次充满活力。这时，Night已经参与到了四首歌的歌词创作中来。Blackmore其实不想再把这些作品称之为Rainbow的作品，然而唱片公司的上层却固执的坚持只有使用Rainbow的乐团名字，唱片才可能在市场上获得更大的销售量。在Strangerin Us All之后，文艺复兴情结再次加深，Blackmore开始在家大量地练习这些多年来他深爱的但一直没有真正练习过的中世纪旋律，并下决心出这样的专辑，而Night也开始在旁边伴着唱起来。这些天真无邪而又不正规的即兴动机正是Blackmore’s Night的萌芽
Blackmore曾经是Deep Purple与Rainbow的创始者，却爱上了欧洲中世纪民谣及文艺复兴色彩的音乐，偕同拥有天籁般音嗓的妻子Candice Night，组合成Blackmore's Night。
