Dead Frontier Beginner's Guide
After creating your character you will be confronted with the game map and your mini-profile to left. Clicking on the Inner City button will take you to the action section of the game where you can scavenge for items, complete missions and fight a range of terrifing creatures. All other options will keep you in the social section of the game, where your character is safe. To start with we recommend a small expedition into the inner-city to get a feel for the game. Before you play the game you will see a help screen explaining the controls.

Your character
Killing enemies and completing missions grants you experience points. When you have enough exp your character will level up. You start on level 1, and the maximum level is 200. However, leveling up past 50 will be hard, and after this point you will receive less bonuses per level.

Everytime you level up you will be prompted to place 5 stat points, and 5 proficiency points. You can spend up to a maximum of 100 points in each stat.

Strength Heavier weapons and armour will require a certain strength level before you can use them.
Agility Determines the running speed of your character
Endurance Determines how much damage your character can take before dying.

Accuracy Determines how likely you are to hit your target with a ranged weapon.

Critical Hit When you hit an enemy you have a random chance to make a critical strike, which will deal 5 times as much damage as a normal hit. The higher this stat, the higher the chance of a critical strike occuring. Grenade launchers and shotguns can never score a critical hit.
Reloading Determines how fast you can reload your weapon.

Weapon Proficiencies
Every weapon can be placed into one of 6 categories: Melee, Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle, Machine Gun or Explosive. Each category has several types and generally the more powerful the weapon, the higher proficiency is needed to use it. For example, if you know you want to eventually use a powerful machine gun, you should spend points in your machine gun proficiency.

Food and Hunger
Food is essential to the long term survival of your character. Over time your hunger level will decrease (1% for every hour in the outpost, and 1% for every 2 minutes spent in the action section). Restoring hunger can be done by eating food and drink, which can be aquired through scavenging, trading or if you're a farmer, growing. You can increase the nutritional value of most foods by having a Chef cook them.

If you allow your hunger to drop below 25% then your character will lose 25% of all his stats until he is fed. Once you hit 0%, you will begin to lose health at the same rate as you lost hunger.

Every piece of food has a nutrition level, the higher the better. You can only eat food that has a nutrition level of equal or higher than your character level. As you level up, keeping yourself alive will require higher quality foods.

Example: A level 20 character cannot eat a piece of food with a nutrition level of 10 (like crisps). But he can eat something with a nutrition level of 20+ (like rice)

Your exp gain is directly linked to your hunger. For example being Nourished gives you almost triple the exp you'd gain at Starving.

Health and Restoration
Everytime your character is hit by an enemy he will lose some health points. If your health drops to 50% or less, then you will temporarily lose 25% of all your stats, if it drops below 25% then you will lose a further 25%. If you hit 0%, you die.

Health can be restored through various medical items. If administered by a Doctor most treatments will have a much better healing effect. As you level up healing will require progressively stronger treatments. You can only use items with a healing level equal to, or above your character level.

Death
When your health reaches 0%, you die. Dying results in the loss of all the cash your character was carrying and the loss of half the exp gained since the last time you leveled up. Also, you will have to wait 2-10 minutes (based on your level) before you can return to life. Dying is not something you want to do often.

Storage
In order to avoid losing all your cash on death, you can deposit some in storage. You can go to storage by clicking the button on the main map screen.

Special Skills
Doctor
Can administer complex medical treaments to himself or others. Every treatment has a minimum level which the doctor must be at in order to administer it. When administering medicene the doctor will lose 5% hunger instantly. A Doctor cannot apply treatments if his hunger or health is lower than 25%

Chef
Can cook food for themselves and other players. As with the Doctor, the Chef must be a certain level in order to cook the food. The chef loses 5% hunger when cooking something. A Chef cannot cook if his hunger or health is lower than 25%.

Engineer
Can repair armour for themselves and others. Every piece of armour has a level at which the Engineer must be at in order to repair it. No items are required to repair, but the Engineer with lose 8% hunger per job and cannot use this skill if either his health or hunger are below 25%.

Scientist
Every 24 hours the Scientist will automatically create medical treatments, of a random quantity and type. Generally the higher level the Scientist, the more items are created. Items will only be created if there is enough inventory space for them, and the items will only appear if you logged in that day.

Farmer
Every 24 hours the Farmer will automatically create high quality foods, of a random quantity and type. Generally the higher level the Farmer, the more items are created. Items will only be created if there is enough inventory space for them, and the items will only appear if you logged in that day.

Inventory
During the game you will aquire an array of different items which will be used to aid your survival and long-term progression throughout the apocalypse. Your character starts off being able to to carry up to 14 items, but can later increase the size of his inventory to 30 by leveling up. Scavenging in the Inner City or trading via the Meeting Hall is the main way to get new items. To use, view, equip and manage your items you should click on the Inventory and Equipment button at the top of your left-hand stat panel.

The inventory panel works using a simple drag and drop system. To equip or unequip an item simply drag it from the or to the desired Weapon/Armour slot. Drag an item over your avatar to eat/drink/use it. Other actions and skills can be used by dragging the item over the relevant icon.

Weapons
Whilst you can carry as many weapons as will fit in your inventory, you can only equip up to 3 at the same time. Some weapons will grant bonus stats when equipped. Stats granted from weapons will allow you to go over the 100 point stat limit.

Ammunition
Every weapon has a set type of ammunition which it can take. Below is a list of ammunition, starting with the weakest and moving up to the most powerful.

Handgun: .32, 9mm, .357, .38, .40, .45, .50
Rifle: 5.5mm, 7.5mm, 9mm, 12.7mm
Shotgun: 20 gauge, 16 gauge, 12 gauge
Grenades: 40mm

You will need to pay careful attention to what type of ammo your particular weapons need (you can do this by looking at it in the inventory screen). To start with you will find getting ammo hard and as such you will need to keep a melee weapon with you at all times. Depending on the type you can hold 200-800 rounds of ammunition in one inventory slot.

Armour
You do not start with any armour, but it can be found or traded for. Armour will absorb damage until it breaks. The percentage of damage it absorbs, and how long it can go before breaking depends on the quality of the armour in question. Armour can be repaired by an Engineer. Sometimes you will find a piece of armour with exceptional craftmanship and will grant you bonus stats when wearing it. Like weapons, bonuses granted through armour can go over the 100 point limit.

Trading
Trading is a big part of Dead Frontier, and participtaing is practically essential to your survival. The chances of finding the items you need, when you need them is slim. In Dead Frontier, all trades are done in cash (as opposed to item for item). The game world is split into 9 trade zones and you can only trade with players within your zone. You can change zones by barricading a building in the relevant part of the inner city.

Buying Items
You can purchase items by visiting the buying section of the Marketplace (an area on the outpost map). You can search for items by name, or by category using the controls at the top of the window. Bare in mind if you're looking for a service you need to select the correct category. If there are multiple results for your search then the cheapest trades will be shown first. Assuming you have enough money and free inventory space you can buy an item simply by clicking the buy button to the right hand side of the list. You can buy a service by dragging and dropping the relevant item from your inventory over one of the icons.

Selling Items
You can sell items publicly by visiting the selling section of the Marketplace. To put an item up for sale simply drag it over the selling list, and enter the price you want to sell it at. If somebody buys your item you will be notified by a private message, and the funds will be added directly to your bank account. Assuming you have space you can cancel a sale at anytime by clicking the button on the right hand side.

Private Trades
If you would only particular person to be able to buy your item you can make a private offer by clicking the Trade link either on their profile or forum signature bar. Once on this screen you can see all items you are currently offering to this person, and all items they are offering you. To make a new offer simply drag the item over the selling list and set the price. If you wish you can give the item for free by setting a price of zero. Eventually the player will either accept or reject the offer. Either way you'll be notified by private message in a similar fashion to public trades.

If you've been offered a private trade you can accept or reject it by visiting the private section of the Marketplace. You will be presented with a list of all incoming and outgoing offers. You can buy or reject an offer by clicking the relevant buttons. Please note that in order to buy the item you must be in the same trade zone as the seller.

Missions
You can aquire missions by visiting the Notice Board from the main map screen. Here you will see a list of missions on offer and the price they are paying. As you level up you will be able to choose harder missions. Once a mission is selected you should go the Inner-City ASAP and begin, since there is usually a time limit. If you are sucessful you will receive a cash reward to your bank account, and an experience bonus. You can only take one mission at a time.

Every so often you may receive a message asking for help. These are Elite missions which have much higher exp and cash rewards associated with them. They will come entirely at random and will be much harder to complete than a normal mission.

Events
Whilst Nastya's Outpost is well defended and fortified, every so often it comes under heavy attack. This attack occurs roughly once every 24 hours, for a period of one hour. During the time the map screen will have several area icons. Clicking on them will take you into the combat section of the game where you will be required to help the defenses in that location.

During the zombie attack you will recieve +50% exp bonus on all zombies killed, and an extra exp reward for taking part.

This is a global event, and everyone's collective performance will determine the outcome. The better players manage to defend the outpost, the higher exp reward everyone will receive.

(Agility)
(Critical Hit)
(Reloading)

(Proficiency)

(Hunger)

(Health)

(Medication)

75%+ = Healthy
50%-75%=Injured
2%-49%=Serious
1%-Critical

死亡(Dieing)

(Storage)

Doctor

Chef

Engineer

Scientist

Farmer

(Inventory)

能搜時會看到“Press "F" to search".

遇到Boss(綠色僵尸)的機會也更高。
