Danilo Thann是深水城北部一个富商家庭的第六子，也是凯尔本“黑杖”奥罗桑的侄子。当他12岁时，他开始在这位著名的深水城法师门下学习魔法，当时他的家人将他委托给凯尔本照料，希望凯尔本能锻炼他的技能，集中并引导他的青年热情。在他的童年和青年，Danilo接受了教育以及各种门类的训练（与他成为诗人前的两种职业有关）。而某种他始终从事的“训练”却是他对女性的研究，很快他就成了从异性身上套取秘密的专家。
于是Danilo秘密被竖琴手组织接纳为消息员和密探，而他大多数任务都是凯尔本直接交代的。在帮助Arilyn Moonblade（著名女竖琴手，数部小说系列的主角）揭示了臭名昭著的“竖琴手杀手”的真实身份后，Danilo被竖琴手组织晋升为正式成员。此后两年他和Arilyn都在一起工作，最后在Tethyr时，某个杀手组织盯上了Danilo，于是Arilyn强行将他传送回了深水城。
他回去后，凯尔本马上给了他新任务：令他去调查一个令诗人吟唱的所有歌曲和歌谣都离奇变调的阴谋。同时，深水城里也发生了其他种种怪事，比如几个领主失踪，庄稼收成不好，还有几次神秘的海难。而且一头太古绿龙还对全部诗人发起了以某种谜题为形式的挑战，如果不能完成他，全世界的诗人将面临被杀的危险。
在一些伙伴的帮助下（包括一个奇怪的冒险团体“Music and Mayhem”），Danilo成功发现所有混乱的幕后黑手是Iriador Wintermist，一个愤世嫉俗的半精灵诗人，他在说服一头龙后取得了一个名为Morninglark的远古精灵神器，并利用此神器的魔法音乐制造了全部问题，而阻止这个半精灵取决于Music and Mayhem团体的帮助。在解答了从龙那儿偷来的极其复杂的谜题后，Danilo及其伙伴得到了Morninglark，并施展（“吟唱”）Elfsong魔法解除了所有Iriador带来的混乱。

Secretly, Danilo was used as an informant and spy for theYHarpers, with most of his missions coming directly fromYKhelben himself. After helping Arilyn Moonblade discoverYthe identity of the infamous .Harper Assassin,. Danilo wasYmade a member of the Harpers. For two years he and ArilynYworked together as partners, and they were last together inYTethyr. When an assassin.s guild marked Danilo as a target,Yhowever, Arilyn forced him to teleport back to Waterdeep.Y
When he arrived, he was given a new mission by Khelben:Yto uncover a plot that had changed all of the ballads andYsongs sung by bards. Simultaneously, many different badYthings were happening to Waterdeep, including the disap-Ypearance of several of the Lords, crop failures, and mysteriousYshipping losses. Also, a challenge to all bards, in the form of aYriddle, had been issued by an ancient green dragon, and itYwas feared that the bards of the Realms would fail in thisYchallenge and die.Y
With the aid of several companions (an unlikely adventur-Ying group called Music and Mayhem), Danilo succeeded inYdiscovering that the culprit behind all the disruption was oneYIriador Wintermist, a disgruntled half-elven bard who hadYtalked a dragon out of an ancient elven artifact called theYMorninglark. The magical music of this artifact was the causeYbehind everything going wrong, and it was up to Music andYMayhem to stop the half-elf. After solving an extraordinarilyYcomplex riddle stolen from the dragon, Danilo and his com-Ypanions were able to get the Morninglark and sing the elfsongDspell that dispelled all the chaos that Iriador had caused.Y
Following this accomplishment, his uncle offered DaniloYone of the fifteen seats belonging to the secret Lords ofYWaterdeep. Danilo accepted, and to this day he is one of theYCity of Splendor.s undisclosed rulers.Y
Motivations/Goals: Iriador.s chaotic acts had been moti-Yvated by a desire for revenge.she blamed Khelben andYothers for the decline of the bard colleges, and Danilo realizedYthat the absence of such organizations in Waterdeep had re-Ysulted in an imbalance that needed correcting. He workedYwith Halambar to develop a plan to restore these institutions,Yand in fact has recently founded a new bard college in the cityYknown as New Olamn. This place is very important to him.Y
Danilo also wants to do a good job as a new Lord ofYWaterdeep, and is thinking of having tunnels built from hisYtownhouse to the secret places where the Lords have theirYfrequent meetings.Y
Finally, Danilo misses Arilyn considerably. He loves her andYwishes to be reunited with her.Y

总体来说，此人主要冒险练级应该是来自两本小说Elfshadow和Elfsong的经历。作为凯尔本的极具天赋的学徒，9法师，3战士勉勉强强说得过去，不过即便如此，就两部小说的表现给13级的Brd还是显得高了一点（多少主角在N部小说有表现还不到10级啊。。。），可能是因为最后取得的那个神器确实不一般，起码得有个魅惑怪物才能有用武之地吧。 |
